Weakest spots:
Head > Breast > Neck / Body
Breakables:
Head, Breast, Fin, All 4 claws,
Tail (break and cut)
Tips:
- Agnaktor's armour hardens over time.
- Use a pitfall trap to instantly make Agnaktor's armour molten.
- Use a sonic bomb when Agnaktor is burrowing underground to startle it and trap it as if a pitfall had been used (does not work in rage mode). In fact, any loud noise will do the trick - crag shots and barrel bombs included.
- Agnaktor's heat beam cannot be blocked. It is best to panic dive out of the way unless you have Guard Boost or are very confident in your evasion skills (or are throwing a Flash Bomb).
- Gunning or using Switch Axe Sword Mode, Hammer/Hunting Horn attacks which do not bounce or the Mind's Eye skill are ways to not bounce off of its armoured state.
Glacial Agnaktor
Ice Element/Water Element
Inflicts Iceblight/Waterblight
Weak to Fire [With and Without Ice]
Weak to Dragon [Without Ice]
Weakest spots:
Head > Breast > Neck / Body
Breakables:
Head, Fin, All 4 Claws. Tail (break and cut)
Tips:
- Glacial Agnaktor's armour softens over time.
- A pitfall trap will harden Glacial Agnaktor's armour, but a shock trap will give more time for the ice to soften.
- Use a sonic bomb when Glacial Agnaktor is burrowing underground to startle it and prevent the armour hardening (does not work in rage mode). In fact, any loud noise will do the trick - crag shots and barrel bombs included.
- Glacial Agnaktor's ice beam cannot be blocked, but is far easier to avoid than Agnaktor's heat beam.
- Gunning or using Switch Axe Sword Mode, Hammer/Hunting Horn attacks which do not bounce or the Mind's Eye skill are ways to not bounce off of its armoured state.
